Thousands of trees, shrubs, evergreens and unique garden accent plants.

Each year we strive to make improvements and grow. This year is no exception. We still have the sand box area for your children to enjoy while you shop. We also have a large selection of fountains and other unique items for your yard.

Perennials

We have a huge selection of perennials to choose from. Not only the tried and true, but new and unusal varieties as well. We have a very knowledgeable staff that is more than happy to help you find the perfect plants for your needs. This year we have enlarged our perennial area again, so please stop in and see the beauty of summer blooming right before your eyes.

Perennial of the Year for 2008

Geranium "Rozanne" is this years choice for "Perennial of the Year". This is an amazing plant the deserves to be recognized. It has large, saucer-shaped, violet-blue flowers with slightly marbled foliage. The semi-vining habit of this perennial makes it a great container plant with a long bloom time. Be sure to add this one to your garden if you haven't already.

Custom Designed Containers

We are pleased to announce a new service. We have a designer who is happy to plant up your existing containers. If they are to heavy to move bring in the dimensions and she will find a sleeve that can be planted and popped inside your container. This way you can pop out the sleeve and bring it in to be changed out for fall and winter as well.

We offer a wide selection of:

Tips for Spring in your Garden: by Shelley our Perennial Gal

I use St. Patrick's Day as my reminder to get out in the garden and check the progress. This is the perfect time to cut down your Buddleias (Butterfly Bush) you can cut them to 6 - 8 inches above the ground. Remember these bloom later in the summer so they will be slower to start in the spring. Give it well into June before you dig it out thinking it's dead. You'll notice new growth around the base of the old stems you cut.

What about those Grasses? They've done their job giving you winter interest now it's time to cut them back. I like to tie a string around the middle of them then cut them low at the base. This will allow for the new growth to come up and be fresh without the old grass peaking through. The bundle is much easier to pick up and less mess of grass blowing all over your yard.

Roses: You'll want to check your roses and this is a perfect time to go in and prune them back. You want to cut out dead or rubbing branches. Shrub roses are some of the toughest, and easiest roses to grow. Some you may have heard of are Knock Out Roses. This is a great new shrub rose that needs little to no maintenance. Every year the growers come up with more and hardier varieties.

Hybrid Teas are a little different. You can cut them back to 4inches from the ground and leave only 3 - 4 good healthy canes. Don't forget that roses are heavy feeders so add some compost in spring and or start lightly fertilizing when you see the nice red new grow starting. A rose fertilizer cut in half every 2 weeks.
